I didn’t feel like being in a beer garden or on a bench or anywhere but inside a museum which is exactly what I did today after I ran over to the Viktualienmarket Beer Garden and snapped a quick self portrait.
Because I was feeling blah about self portraits I decided to get inspiration from Cindy Sherman at the Goetz Collection.
The art gallery is located in the suburbs of Munich, Germany behind a very large wall and is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays by appointment. Large walls and appointments sound a bit scary but all you need to do is go to their website and register when you want to go. I sent in my request and received an email confirmation within minutes.
When you walk into the front door, there is a small library/office area. The exhibition spaces are down one flight of stairs or up one flight of stairs from this main space.
Ingvild Goetz is responsible for this wonderful building and an amazing collection of contemporary art. If you are visiting Munich, I would suggest a visit. It really is worth it. I feel ready for tomorrow’s challenge and look forward to seeing the next exhibition.
